The Los Angeles Dodgers and manager Don Mattingly are discussing a possible contract extension, according to ESPN.com.
Don Mattingly, Dodgers talk contract extension
After leading his team to the NLCS, Mattingly is now talking about staying awhile.

Mattingly finished his third year with the Dodgers, leading them to a National League West crown and ultimately to the National League Championship Series where they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals. After the series, there was discussion of whether Mattingly would return.
Los Angeles only stoked those rumors of discontent by firing Mattingly's bench coach, Trey Hillman. However, it appears the two sides are now working to keep Mattingly in charge for the long haul. The Dodgers finished with 92 wins in 2013 despite serious injuries to Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez and Zack Greinke among others. It was their highest win total since 2009.
Should the parties not be able to come to a deal, Mattingly has one year left on his current contract before he would hit the open market.
