Today was an exciting day in the World Baseball Classic, with the Dominican Republic coming from behind to win, Japan finally putting an end to Netherlands’ torrid pace, and Joe Torre driving the USA fans insane.
World Baseball Classic: Japan, Dominican Republic win
As the next leg of the World Baseball Classic gets underway, teams began play today.

Italy jumped out to a 4-0 lead to start the game today vs the Dominican Republic, but they were unable to hold on as the DR's bats were once again just too much for the opposing pitchers. The highlight of this one was an absolute bomb by Robinson Cano, which hit off the second deck of the spacious ballpark in Miami.
Japan was able to put a stop the the Netherlands’ run by defeating them 10-6 today, led by Shinnosuke Abe and his two home runs. The Netherlands was not a favorite coming into the tournament, but have now forced their way into the conversation.
Joe Torre decided that hitting Giancarlo Stanton 8th and Ben Zobrist 9th was a good idea. Eric Hosmer is hitting 6th. I won't say anything, because as the saying goes: "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
All World Baseball Classic Scores:
Dominican Republic 5, Italy 4
Japan 10, Netherlands Kingdom 6
United States 2, Puerto Rico 0 (in progress)
