The Astros have sent 21 up against Yu Darvish, and the Rangers right-hander has sent 21 down. Through seven innings in Houston Tuesday, he’s perfect. He just has to stay that way for six more outs to record the second perfect game in Rangers history.
Yu Darvish perfect through 7 innings
The Rangers right-hander has over-powered Houston through the first 21 outs.

Just as impressive is the way Darvish has done it so far: he’s already recorded 12 strikeouts. Of course, the danger in that is a pitch count that’s creeping steadily higher. It’s currently at 93, but Rangers manager Ron Washington has no choice but to keep sending Darvish to the mound under the circumstances.
Texas leads 5-0 behind a home run off the bat of Ian Kinsler and other RBIs by Mitch Moreland, Lance Berkman and Nelson Cruz.
If Darvish is successful, this would be the earliest perfect game pitched in the MLB. Prior to this, White Sox right-hander Philip Humber threw one on April 21, 2012 in Chicago’s 14th game of the season.
