Indians 5, Rays 0: Ubaldo Jimenez pitched well against the Rays, tossing eight shutout innings. Jason Giambi and Asdrubal Cabrera both smacked two-run homers off Chris Archer, who was making his 2013 debut.

Twins 5, Mariners 4: The Twins scored five runs off Tom Wilhelmsen in the ninth inning to come away with the victory. Ryan Doumit walked 'em off with a two-run triple. This made for a colorful celebration:

Cardinals 8, Giants 0 (Game 1): Shelby Miller pitched seven scoreless innings for St. Louis in the first game of a day-night double header. Tony Cruz and Daniel Descalso each drove in two runs on two hits.

Cardinals 7, Giants 1 (Game 2): San Francisco's luck was hardly better in the nightcap, and the Giants didn't get on the board until the seventh inning. Adam Wainwright stuck out 10 in his 14th complete game.

Tigers 10, Orioles 3: Detroit hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning, before Miguel Cabrera finished off the eight-run frame with a grand slam. J.J. Hardy hit two home runs for the Orioles, both off Tigers ace Justin Verlander.

Astros 2, Angels 0: Houston won its fourth straight! The Astros are now on pace for 55 wins. The Angels fell to 9.5 games out of first in the AL West, but their fans set some sort of rally-wig-wearing record. Apparently it didn't work. Probably shouldn't have deployed it in the fifth inning.

Athletics 4, White Sox 3 (10 innings): Shrimp alert! Josh Reddick drew a walk-off walk off Hector Santiago in the bottom of the 10th inning to push the A's to the win. Jed Lowrie went 4-for-5.

Royals 4, Rangers 1: James Shields allowed a run in seven innings, but Kansas City needed extra innings to come away with the win. David Lough got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in a run, then pinch-hitter George Kottaras added two for insurance with a double.

Rockies 7, Dodgers 6 (10 inn.): Carl Crawford left the game with a tweaked hamstring. Don Mattingly left in the sixth after an invitation by umpire Brian Knight to enjoy the rest of the day in the clubhouse. The Rockies left happiest of all when Dexter Fowler drove in Yorvit Torrealba for the win.

Braves 2, Nationals 1 (10 inn.): Bad day for Washington. Earlier in the day Bryce Harper hit the DL. Later, they lost on a walk-off single by B.J. Upton to wipe out a nice effort by Gio Gonzalez. Now if you were a Brave, it was a rather joyous occasion:

Brewers 4, Phillies 3: Francisco Rodriguez notched his third save as the Brewers held off a ninth-inning charge by the Phillies. Rodriguez had a lot of help from the second-base umpire. Kyle Kendrick was called out on a pickoff, but replay showed that shortstop Jean Segura tagged him without the ball.

Marlins 8, Mets 1: The Mets are apparently still hung over from their four-game series sweep of the Yankees. On Saturday, Jose Fernandez struck out eight in seven scoreless innings, and notched two hits with an RBI, bumping the Marlins to JUST 18.5 games out of first place.

Red Sox 11, Yankees 1: The Yankees' terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week rolls on. Mike Napoli went 3-for-5 on the day, and hit his second grand slam of the season in the third inning. Felix Doubront gave up one earned run in six innings.

Diamondbacks 12, Cubs 4: The game was tied 4-4 in the eighth, but then Paul Goldschmidt busted things wide open for Arizona with a grand slam off Carlos Marmol, who was tagged with the loss. Zach Putnam gave up four more runs off six hits in the ninth.

Reds 2, Pirates 0: Mike Leake has now allowed just one run in his last 33 innings. On Saturday, he pitched a shutout in a six-inning stint, giving up seven hits with five strikeouts. The win put Cincinnati one game ahead of Pittsburgh, and 2.5 games back from St. Louis.

Padres 4, Blue Jays 3: These teams technically played their second game of the day; Friday night's 17-inning endurance test didn't finish up until well past midnight. Both staffs pitched well despite their tired arms. Robbie Erlin won his first major league start, giving up two runs in 6⅔ innings.
