With the hopes of getting back on track during a six-game homestand, the Washington Nationals called up third baseman Anthony Rendon from Triple-A Syracuse and pulled the trigger on several other roster moves on Tuesday, according to The Washington Time's Amanda Comak.

Lefty Ian Krol was picked up from Double-A and in 26 games with the Harrisburg Senators, he has performed well as a reliever and has a 0.69 ERA. Meanwhile, relievers Henry Rodriguez and Zach Duke were designated for assignment, and Jayson Werth was pulled off the disabled list, which he's been on since May 2 because of hamstring strain.

The Nationals also placed Danny Espinosa on the disabled list after the realization that his shoulder injury wasn't getting better.
It's Rendon who could end up being the most intriguing player to watch among Tuesday's moves. He'll turn 23 years old on Thursday and had a .319 average with 11 doubles and six homers in 33 appearances with Double-A Harrisburg. He was pulled up to Triple-A Syracuse this weekend and also had a short stint with the Nationals when Ryan Zimmerman was injured.
Washington hosts three-game sets against the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins beginning on Tuesday.
