The Red Sox right fielder limped down the first base line after hitting a double play ball to Yankee second baseman Robinson Cano. He immediately left the field for the clubhouse following the play. He was replaced in right field by Daniel Nava at the start of the fourth inning.

Victorino has battled issues with hamstring several times this season. He strained his hamstring on May 21 and spent 15 days on the disabled list as result. The injury flared up again on July 6, keeping him out of the line up for a few days. According to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, manager John Farrell described Victorino as day-to-day as a result of this latest incident.
