Seattle Mariners DH (and sometimes first baseman) Kendrys Morales was claimed on revocable waivers by an unknown team Monday, reports Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.
Kendrys Morales claimed on waivers by mystery club
The M’s designated hitter could be playing elsewhere by the end of the week.

The M’s have 48 hours from the time of the claim to either give Morales away to the claiming team, work out a trade for him, or pull him back from the waiver wire.
Morales, 30, has put up solid numbers for the Mariners this season. The impending free agent is batting .281/.338/.446 with 17 home runs in 125 games on the year, which -- while not quite the MVP-like production he achieved back in '09 -- is right in line with his numbers with the Angels in 2012.
Morales isn't the only veteran 1B/DH type available on the waiver wire, but his low remaining salary -- roughly $1 million through the end of the year -- likely makes him a more attractive option for teams than someone like Justin Morneau. Unlike the Twins and Morneau, however, the M's can only negotiate a deal with one team.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have shown interest in adding at first base since the July trade deadline. But Morales would have needed to go unclaimed by nearly every team in the league for the Bucs to get in on him, so the chances that they're the claiming team are not very good.
