Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong is scheduled to make a rehab start at Double-A Richmond on Sunday, but his stint may now include an extra start later in the week at Triple-A Fresno, according to Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News.
Ryan Vogelsong injury: Giants Pitcher’s rehab may include an extra start
Vogelsong has now missed 2 1/2 months with a broken hand.

Vogelsong made nine starts this season before fracturing his right hand on May 20 after being hit by a pitch. He struggled early in the season, tallying a 7.19 ERA in 46 1/3 innings to date. His 3.5 walks per nine innings was his highest rate since his return to the majors in 2011, as was his 2.22 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Chad Gaudin has mostly pitched in Vogelsong's place, and Gaudin has a 3.00 ERA in 51 innings over his nine starts since Vogelsong was injured. Gaudin has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of those starts, but it's assumed Vogelsong would take back his spot in the rotation, and Gaudin would head back to the bullpen, where he made 18 appearances in April and May.
