The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that 30-year-old Ron Homer committed suicide when he fell 85 feet to his death last month, reports Alexis Stevens of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Fan’s fall at Turner Field ruled suicide
A Braves fan fell to his death on Aug. 12. It has now been ruled a suicide.

Homer attended the game with his friends on Aug. 12 when he fell from the fourth floor of the stadium, landing on concrete in the players’ parking lot. Emergency personnel found Homer unconscious and not breathing, and administered CPR. Paramedics transferred him to Atlanta Medical Center, where he died shortly after.
Toxicology reports indicate that Homer had alcohol in his system at the time of his death, according to an investigator with the medical examiner’s office. The office did not provide more information on the autopsy details or why they ruled his death a suicide.
Homer was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who frequently attended games. His family previously told Stevens that Homer may have gone to smoke a cigarette before falling, possibly slipping on wet pavement while leaning down to look at the players' lot.
