Allen Craig is not expected to play in the NLDS due to a Lisfranc injury that has kept him out for nearly a month, according to Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak. He last played on Sept. 4.
Allen Craig injury: Cardinals slugger out for NLDS
Craig is not expected to play in the NLDS due to a Lisfranc injury that has kept him out of action since early September.

Craig, who primarily played first base this season in St. Louis, is batting .315/.373/.457 on the year with 13 home runs and 97 RBI. He really shined with runners in scoring position, hitting .454 with a 1.138 OPS whenever there were runners on second or third.
While the injury will be a blow to St. Louis' chances of advancing to the NLCS and beyond, the Cardinals are as deep as any team in the playoffs. Matt Adams has done a fine job filling in for Craig at first base, hitting .285/.337/.511 in 105 games this season. Since Craig went down in early September, Adams leads the Cardinals with seven home runs and 15 RBI.
St. Louis enters Friday with a magic number of one to clinch the National League Central title. The NLDS is set to begin Thursday, Oct. 3.
