The Cleveland Indians clinched the No. 1 AL Wild Card seed with a 5-1 win over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in their regular season finale.

Indians starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez entered Sunday's game with a 1.76 ERA since July 28 and continued his hot streak, only allowing one run on five hits over 6 2/3 innings. Jimenez overpowered the Minnesota offense, matching his career high with 13 strikeouts.
Nick Swisher gave Cleveland a lead as the second batter of the game. Michael Bourn led off the game with a single, then Swisher uncorked a two-run homer to left, giving the Indians an advantage they would never relinquish.
Justin Masterson made his third appearance out of the bullpen for Cleveland. Masterson, who suffered an oblique injury against the Baltimore Orioles on Sept. 2, tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief, striking out two.
Cleveland improved to 92-70 with the win, their best record since winning 96 games in 2007. The Indians went 21-6 in September to secure the top spot in the AL Wild Card, including a 10-game winning streak to wrap up the season, the longest winning streak to finish a season in franchise history.
