Saying "Alex Gordon is a Gold Glove outfielder" is like saying "Jimi Hendrix played guitar": it explains what they did, but it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what exactly that means.
Alex Gordon, king of baseball, rules 3rd inning of ALCS Game 1
The Royals outfielder had a good third inning to break open Game 1 of the ALCS.
Gordon’s glove, which he wields like a Royal scepter, says to opposing hitter and the balls they hit “NONE SHALL PASS FALL TO THE GROUND.” In fact, while this hasn’t been scientifically proven, it appears as if the baseball gods whisper out into his glove to let him know, “we believe in you, Alex.”
It didn’t hurt that he drove in three runs in the top of the inning with a broken bat double, either. Dude has game for days.
