If life is a game of inches, then the inch of Jonathan Schoop's back that the ball intended to pick him off at third ricocheted off of is perhaps the luckiest inch in the entire state of Maryland. It was just the first in what would become a comedy of errors that Niles Crane might think a bit farcical. Almost immediately following the Schoop mishap, a seemingly innocuous infield pop up by Alejandro De Aza scored him from just 90 feet away. With the game tied, the Royals must hope that they can find their Daphne, or, at the very least, another run.
