First off, just to save you the pain of looking, Randal Grichuk goes on, kind of like that Celine Dion song in that disaster-porn flick about the boat. Hey, he's right-handed and Madison Bumgarner is a left-handed pitcher, so it kind of makes sense, as does dropping the red-hot Kolten Wong, who is 5-for-14 in this series, from sixth to seventh in the batting order. All five hits went for extra bases, too, but it's a lefty-on-lefty thing, see? Yadier Molina also continues to be too injured to play, hence Tony Cruz. Adam Wainwright may also be too injured to play. He says he isn't, the results say something else, but maybe that's a coincidence.
NLCS Game 5: Cardinals, Giants lineups revealed
Familiar players in familiar places, those names you’ve grown to appreciate and/or despise, here they are right now. Again. Possibly, at least in some cases, for the final time this season.

With the Royals already in the clubhouse, if the Giants wrap this one up on Thursday night then we can all sit around until Tuesday awaiting the start of the World Series and there will be no complaining about which team is rustier because both will have suffered equal oxidation. That's not to say that anyone here is taking sides, but anything that will prevent us from having to hear that old tune again is worth wishing for.
