The Kansas City Royals' postseason winning streak went down in flames on Tuesday, but they won't have to wait long to get the loss out of their systems. The Royals will take the field against the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday, sending Yordano Ventura to the hill opposite Jake Peavy.

The Royals’ struggling offense meets the Giants’ surging bats.

Ventura, a 23-year-old rookie, is coming off of a decent start in the ALCS that followed a dominant ALDS start in which he allowed only one run in seven innings. His opponent, Peavy, has never had a postseason start as good as that one from Ventura. In fact, the veteran hurler has failed to complete six innings in a playoff game in seven tries.
That doesn’t mean the Royals are a lock to tie the series at a game apiece. Kansas City’s offense has struggled, scoring only five total runs in its last three games. The Giants, meanwhile, have scored at least five runs in each of their last four contests.
