Giants vs. Royals, 2014 World Series Game 6: Time, TV schedule, live stream and more

The Giants have a chance to clinch their third World Series title in five years on Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

The San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals meet for Game 6 of the 2014 World Series at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday night. The Giants have a chance to put away the series after a 5-0 victory on Sunday night, and could clinch their third championship in five years with a win.

The Giants will have Jake Peavy on the mound in a rematch against Kansas City's Yordano Ventura. The Royals got the best of Peavy in that Game 2 matchup, getting six hits and four runs off the right-hander in six innings en route to a 7-2 victory. Ventura allowed eight hits and two runs over 5.1 innings, getting a no-decision for his effort.

It's hard not to wonder whether Peavy will be able to step up after an inconsistent postseason. He started strong with 5⅔ shutout innings to stop the Washington Nationals in the NLDS, but lasted just four innings in his only NLCS start against the St. Louis Cardinals before underwhelming in the loss to Kansas City last week. During the regular season, Peavy never went three straight starts without lasting six innings, and while pitcher usage in the playoffs is obviously a different animal, the Giants can ill afford another shaky effort.

For Kansas City, the team needs to hope some homefield advantage will lead to a couple more KC miracles. Otherwise, Tuesday may be the final game of the season for everyone involved.
