A low change-up and a looping swing by Josh Hamilton led to a scary few moments for Royals catcher Salvador Perez, who took a roundhouse bat to the top of the helmet. While he would stay in the game after the hit, almost the entirety of Kansas City's medical staff came out to check on him on the field, furthering their evaluation in the dugout after the half-inning.
