It seems as though Zack Greinke decided to pick up where Clayton Kershaw dropped off the face of the Earth in his seventh-inning, eight-run debacle in Game 1. Greinke hasn't allowed a hit against the Cardinals through the first three frames of Game 2 at Dodger Stadium.
Zack Greinke starts strong in Game 2
The Dodgers’ No. 2 pitcher is playing like the ace he is paid to be, allowing no hits and providing his own run support through three innings in Chavez Ravine.

While Greinke (17-8, 2.71) has been largely overshadowed by Kershaw’s historic season, this start continues his momentum as a top-10 National League pitcher. And although his hitting has largely been overshadowed by the fact that he’s a pitcher despite winning the Silver Slugger last year, he’s already managed to collect a hit and score a run to help his own cause and build the Dodgers’ 2-0 lead.
Greinke posted a .612 OPS during the regular season and hit a home run, the fourth of his career. It remains to be seen if he’ll start snagging fly balls in the outfield, but at this point it’s probably not safe to rule anything out.
