Yu Darvish has no-hitter through 8 innings against Red Sox

Darvish has a season-high 11 strikeouts through eight innings and has thrown 113 pitches, including 73 for strikes. He has walked two and had one pop up unfortunately drop in short right field for an error in the seventh inning.
In the eighth inning, Darvish walked Xander Bogaerts. He then got A.J. Pierzynski to ground out and Will Middlebrooks to pop out before striking out Jackie Bradley Jr. to end the frame.
The Rangers haven't had a no-hitter since Kenny Rogers threw a perfect game on July 28, 1994 against the Angels. The last no-hitter in the majors was thrown by Henderson Alvarez of the Marlins against the Tigers on Sept. 29, 2013.
Darvish has come close to a no-hitter before, retiring the first 26 Astros he faced on April 2, 2012. He also took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, also against Houston, last Aug. 12.
All that stands in the way for Darvish is three more outs. The top of the Red Sox order is due up in the ninth, with Dustin Pedoria, Shane Victorino and David Ortiz standing in his way.
