There was a bit of a stir during the third inning of Tuesday’s All-Star Game at Target Field. The crowd began to notice a large sign hanging over the right-field video board that read “Love Water Not Oil” in what appears to be a political protest. Security and police immediately noticed the sign, and removed it within 30 minutes of its appearance.

— Chris Cotillo (@ChrisCotillo) July 16, 2014 Security guards and police officers were surprised to see the sign hanging from that spot, which appears to be more than 100 feet off the ground. There is no public access behind the scoreboard, but security officers confirmed that there are ramps that allow employees to climb up to the catwalk above the scoreboard.
"Obviously somebody came from the exterior of the ballpark," said John Skinner, Major League Baseball's Director of Security. "We'll have to take a look at it, and the police are investigating it. It was noticed relatively quickly. I don't think you could read the sign that much, so from that perspective, it was expediently taken care of. The Twins recognized it and took care of it quickly."
