MLB trade rumors: Lester, Price, Hamels dominating rumor mill with two days before deadline

A recap of all the latest rumors over at MLB Daily Dish.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

With just under 48 hours left before the non-waiver trade deadline on Thursday, the eyes of the baseball world are focused on three available left-handers: Jon Lester, David Price and Cole Hamels. For the latest on where that trio and every other trade candidate will be playing on Aug. 1, make sure to check out MLB Daily Dish. Here's a quick recap of the hottest rumors:

Dodgers expected to be active on starting pitching market

The Los Angeles Dodgers are showing interest in Lester, Price, Hamels and John Lackey, who has also been made available by the Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers have even discussed the possibility of moving Matt Kemp to the Red Sox in a deal for Lester.

Tulowitzki unlikely to be moved

As we reported yesterday, the chances of the Colorado Rockies dealing Troy Tulowitzki appear to be slim. A source told us that it would "take the offer of the century" to land the shortstop in a trade.

Padres actively shopping with Denorfia, Benoit available

The San Diego Padres are looking to make more moves, and, as we first reported this morning, there's a "good chance" reliever Joaquin Benoit is moved before the trade deadline. The San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners are among the teams in on outfielder Chris Denorfia, who we reported is expected to be dealt "sooner rather than later."

Red Sox looking to move Lester, Lackey, Miller, others

The Red Sox could sell a bunch of key pieces at the deadline, and are receiving strong interest in Lester, Lackey and reliever Andrew Miller. Miller is drawing interest from the Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals and others, while Boston has received inquiries from the Mariners and Baltimore Orioles about Lester. Kansas City may make a push for both Lackey and Miller, as we wrote this morning.

Secondary starting pitching market taking shape

After Lester, Price, Hamels and Lackey, there is a whole second tier of pitchers available in trades. The New York Yankees are interested in John Danks of the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros are willing to shop young pitchers like Dallas Keuchel, Jared Cosart and Collin McHugh.

Willingham, Rios, Byrd drawing interest

The right-handed hitting market is headlined by Josh Willingham (Minnesota Twins), Alex Rios (Texas Rangers) and Marlon Byrd (Philadelphia Phillies). The Royals and Mariners seem like they're not going to get Byrd, the Yankees are looking hard at Willingham, and Rios is drawing lots of interest from contenders.
