Little League World Series
While Pennsylvania is one of the winningest states in this tournament, with four championships, no team from Philadelphia has made as far as the one fronted by 13-year old Mo’ne Davis. Davis has emerged as a national darling after breaking out a 70-MPH fastball, and pitching the Taney Dragons of Center City to the LLWS. Davis and Emma March mark the 17th and 18th women to play in Williamsport, though it’s just the third time in the last 11 years that multiple girls will be playing there at the same time.
