Little League World Series 2014 schedule for Monday

The tournament has entered the double elimination phase.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Little League World Series continued to take shape on Sunday and the bracket will become even clearer on Monday with a few elimination games.

There will be five games played on Monday, including a consolation game. The other four feature teams with a loss where the winner will move on and the loser will be eliminated. That includes a few teams from the United States with Washington facing Texas while Illinois and Rhode Island square off. The winners will play each other on Tuesday. Texas appeared on its way to a 2-0 start, but Pennsylvania scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to send Texas into an elimination game.

Mexico took a 5-4 lead in the fourth inning against Japan and for a moment looked like it might advance with its second win. Instead, Japan tied the game in the fourth and scored four in the fifth on the way to a 9-5 win. Mexico will now face Australia with the winner moving on to face the winner of the game between Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The team that wins that game will advance on to an elimination game against either South Korea or Japan.

ESPN and ESPN2 will again handle the television coverage on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. ET. The elimination games will begin at 1 p.m. with the final game of the night scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Here is a complete look at the schedule for the day and the broadcast information for each game.
