Christian Colon hits World Series-winning single in 1st at-bat in 4 weeks

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

For most of the Royals postseason run, Christian Colon was nowhere to be found. Before Sunday, Colon had not had an at-bat since Oct. 4 ... during the regular season. Then, in the top of the 12th inning of Game 5 of the World Series, Colon stepped up to the plate for the first time in nearly a month and delivered a huge hit for the Royals.

Colon found himself in a 1-2 count, but came through with a single. That put Kansas City up 3-2 and the Royals went on to win 7-2, clinching their first World Series since 1985.

One at-bat during the entire postseason and he comes through with one of the most memorable moments.
