We’ve been waiting to hear word of Josh Hamilton’s suspension since late-February, when he spoke with Major League Baseball officials about reportedly relapsing with drugs and alcohol.
Josh Hamilton will not be suspended by MLB

— MLB Communications (@MLB_PR) April 3, 2015 What this means for Hamilton for 2015 isn’t fully known: he won’t be losing his $23 million salary, but when he’ll start playing is a question, as he didn’t participate in a single spring training game.
What kind of changes MLB plans to make to their drug abuse guidelines is also unclear, but given their stance in wanting to see Hamilton suspended, it’s likely they were the source of the leaks that the Players Association was unhappy about.
