2015 MLB Draft results: Arizona Diamondbacks select Dansby Swanson with No. 1 overall pick
The Diamondbacks made Vanderbilt shortstop Dansby Swanson the first pick of the 2015 MLB Draft.

Swanson is the consensus top player in the draft, and the most highly regarded of the three shortstops expected to go in the top 10 picks. Some thought Arizona might cut a deal for a lower-slot player, but the Diamondbacks ended up taking the top prize.
In 64 games for Vanderbilt this season, Swanson hit .348/.441/.648 with 14 home runs and 15 stolen bases. With Vanderbilt playing against Illinois in the NCAA super regionals on Monday, Swanson hit a home run and doubled, marking a pretty great day for the 21-year-old.
