There were four elimination games on the schedule in the Little League World Series on Monday, with two American teams and two international teams now inching closer to championship weekend in Williamsport.

Pitcher Wei Hung Chou struck out 14 and allowed only one hit for Chinese Taipei.


Maddon Burr drove in two runs as the Kentucky team representing the Great Lakes region edged South Carolina, 4-3, in the U.S. bracket. Kentucky pitcher Ty Bryant went five innings on the mound in the win.
Kentucky will face California on Tuesday after California defeated Rhode Island, 10-3. Representing the West region, California advanced behind four RBI from Jacob Baptista and three RBI from Walker Lannom. Levi Mendez pitched a complete game for California and allowed just four hits on the night.
On the international side of the bracket, Mexico thumped Australia, 14-3, thanks to a nine-run first inning. Chinese Taipei scored three runs in the first and two in the fifth on the way to a 5-0 victory over Uganda. Pitcher Wei Hung Chou allowed only one hit and struck out 14 in the most dominant pitching performance of the tournament thus far.
