The Blue Jays will look to bounce back from a 2-0 series deficit vs. the Indians as the series returns to Toronto for Game 3. Despite allowing just four total runs over two games, the Jays have fallen short as their lively offense has faded away early in the ALCS.

Game 3 will air Monday at 8:08 p.m. ET on TBS in the United States and on SportsNet in Canada. Ernie Johnson will handle play-by-play duties for TBS, with Ron Darling and Cal Ripken Jr. also providing commentary and Sam Ryan reporting.

The pitching matchup will feature Marcus Stroman taking the mound for the Blue Jays against Indians’ starter Trevor Bauer. Stroman pitched six innings in the AL Wild Card Game but did not factor into the decision after allowing two runs. Bauer has had a rough stretch, allowing three or more runs in seven consecutive starts. He started Game 1 of the ALDS, going just 4 ²⁄₃ inning while allowing six hits and three runs. Bauer had originally been announced as Game 2’s starter, but had his start pushed back after he cut his finger while trying to fix a drone.

The Blue Jays will have to find an answer for the Indians’ strategic usage of star reliever Andrew Miller. Miller has sustained his lights-out dominance this year in the postseason. After a regular season in which he put up a 1.45 ERA, backed up by a dazzling 1.18 xFIP and an eye-popping 14.89 strikeouts per nine innings, Miller has continued to flummox hitters in the postseason, pitching 7 ²⁄₃ scoreless innings thus far and securing 17 of 23 possible outs via the strikeout.

Edwin Encarnacion has led the Blue Jays’ offense with three home runs this postseason, but has still yet to clear the fence in the ALCS, with two hits so far in the series. He has hit .348 in the postseason, but it has been Josh Donaldson who has led the way with a .462 average so far, including three hits and the Jays’ lone ALCS RBI. The trio of Encarnacion, Donaldson, and Jose Bautista combined for 101 home runs and 295 RBI in the regular season, but will need to continue their output to have a better shot at coming back from their current deficit to make the team’s first World Series appearance since 1993.
