When will he stop?
Rafael Devers makes more Red Sox history, and fans can’t get enough
It’s Devers’ world and we’re all just living in it.

Rafael Devers, the most recent addition to Boston’s intimidating lineup of young rookies, has more than impressed the baseball-watching public during his first 16 major league games.
He’s downright shattered expectations many had for him when he got called up to the big leagues. Considering those expectations were sky high based on his performance in the minors, that’s saying something.
Devers added himself to the Red Sox history books shortly after he joined the squad by becoming one of the youngest players ever to hit a home run in a Red Sox uniform. He’s also sent a Yankees fan into the depths of despair with a single dinger.
He’s not slowing down though — Devers is once again setting records and putting his name alongside Red Sox (and baseball) greats from the last century.
With his home run against Aroldis Chapman on Sunday, and two more blasts during a game against Cleveland on Monday night, Devers is the first Red Sox player since Tony Conigliaro to have a multi-home run game at just 20 years old.
Not willing to stop with that, he is now also the only Boston player to homer in consecutive games before age 21 since both Conigliaro and Ted Williams himself.
Lest you think people aren’t noticing his batting heroics, don’t worry. Red Sox fans and followers of the sport alike are getting excited about Devers’ various game-saving, jaw-dropping, win-sealing hits and plays.
Are some of these reactions hyperbolic? Probably. But when it comes to Rafael Devers, who can even tell what counts as overreacting anymore?
