Gary Sanchez’s 493-foot bomb is the second-longest in baseball this season
Everybody lost their minds about it, naturally.

That’s a goner. Bye, baseball. Hope your express tour of the airspace over Comerica Park was enjoyable!
Gary Sanchez hit an absolute bomb of a home run on Tuesday against Detroit, smashing a ball 493 feet and nearly setting a record home run distance for the season. Naturally, his teammate Aaron Judge has the longest homer at 495 feet.
Still, it’s more than impressive. What’s more, Sanchez made it look almost easy to pummel a baseball with a piece of wood this way.
It cleared the bleachers at Comerica and kept traveling, and everyone watching went absolutely nuts about it — as they should have, because DANG.
Remember how Gary Sanchez is a catcher and his offensive output is unbelievable and incredible to watch happen? Well he’s not about to let anyone forget it.
