Australia and Canada have both been bounced from this year’s Little League World Series, but they found the silver lining of still being in America after they lost by going to New York City to watch the Yankees play the Mariners at Yankee Stadium.
Some international LLWS teams went to Friday night’s Yankees game, but is it because they hate the Phillies?
Australia and Canada are out of the tournament, but had some fun in the big city.

They both looked to be having a pretty great time on their night out...
...but one question about these team outings does need to be answered.
Why the Yankees game, when Philadelphia is (at minimum) 45 minutes closer to Williamsport, PA and the Phillies were also playing at home on Friday.
While the answer here is most likely both teams flying out of New York to get home at some point this weekend, the fun answer is definitely that neither of them wanted to watch the Phillies play baseball.
Which is understandable, and probably good coaching when it all comes down to it. You want these kids to continue to have a passion for baseball after they get home. Not feel like it’s a bad career to strive for or a boring sport to watch.
Hopefully all kids from both teams had a great time in New York and weren’t scandalized by the fact that the Yankees weren’t wearing pinstripes.
