Before the Blue Jays’ Darwin Barney could even struggle sliding into third base, he had to make it there. Which the Orioles let him do by throwing the ball toward home after the cutoff instead of keeping him at second base.
Darwin Barney struggled hilariously trying to slide into third base

Barney zipped around the bases and turned a probable double into a triple, but needed to slide into third in order to do so.
Which ... was the difficult part.
So close! But he dove too soon and his dive turned into a sad flop. He then resorted to scooting in the dirt and waving his arms like a seal struggling on sand, but he made it there!
Baltimore’s tag came too late, and was applied to his de-helmeted head after he was already embracing the bag. His goofy smile says it all, though, and a gif of this will live forever online soon enough.
He’s already reliving things in the dugout!
