A’s fans can win free season tickets by hitting a home run out of the Coliseum

On Thursday, the Oakland A’s are holding a contest for 100 fans where they could potentially win free season tickets for the 2018 season.

Depending on who the contestants are, which were chosen from social media, this could really backfire on the organization if they have to give away 62 free season ticket sets because someone accidentally chose a bunch of former college players and coaches who still have a lot of core strength.

That probably won’t happen, but now that’s a scenario that should absolutely be in play for chaos and humor purposes.

The set up of the contest will involve all one hundred people getting a single pitch to hit, which they will try to send over the fences. If any of them happen to be current season ticket holders, whichever plan they already pay for will be free next year.

Just in case nobody is able to hit a home run in a single try — which, in all likelihood, is going to be the outcome — the longest hit ball of the group will signify the winner.

Which is a good clause for the team to include because without that backup option it sure seems like the deck is stacked against anybody winning at all.

This is a great time for somebody to get their season tickets free too, especially if it gets a fan going to games more consistently. The team might not be great now (and is on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention) but their young talent is gelling and portends great things for the future of the team.

Next year could be the beginning of a fruitful turnaround, and one lucky fan could be there to see it all for free. If they are strong enough, that is.
