It was quickly removed.

During the fifth inning of World Series Game 5 between the Red Sox and Dodgers, a group of fans in the upper deck of Dodger Stadium unfurled a banner that read “trans people deserve to live.” It was a pretty large piece of signage, so however they snuck it through security without any trouble was probably impressive.

The banner was brought and unfurled by the TransLatin@ Coalition, a nationwide organization that “advocate[s] for the specific needs of the Trans Latin@ community that reside in the USA and to plan strategies that improve our quality of life.” They posted video of their demonstration on their Facebook page. If you’re reading this on Apple News you can click through to watch the video here.

The latest anti-LGBTQ Trump administration policy aims to re-interpret Title IX so it “would define sex as either male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with.” If enacted, this policy would essentially erase federal protections for trans people and cause untold hardship for those who identify as a different gender than the one assigned to them when they were born.

According to reports from the stadium, someone quickly took the banner down. Whether that was cops on site or fans sitting in the section below who were having their view of the game blocked is unclear based on early reports. The fans behind it got their message out for a few minutes before it was removed though.
