The Twins have reportedly made an offer to free-agent starter Yu Darvish, but that’s about all we know about said offer. It exists, probably, but what the offer is? Well, that’s just something you’ll have to wait to find out.
The Twins finally made Yu Darvish an offer
Thursday’s Say Hey, Baseball sees the Twins finally taking steps towards signing Yu Darvish.

Darren Wolfson of ESPN Radio said as much on the air (by way of MLB Trade Rumors). Maybe the Twins’ offer to Darvish is one of the $100 million offers he has received that Ken Rosenthal mentioned! Or maybe the Twins are sticking to their history and have no such intentions of that kind of contract. We’ll just have to wait and see.
At least there is an offer out there — it wasn’t that long ago we were wondering why the Twins hadn’t even scheduled a meeting with Darvish yet despite it already being 2018 and his being their supposed primary target for the offseason.
Even if the Twins don’t end up being the ones to get Darvish, Alex Cobb and Lance Lynn are still out there, and Jake Arrieta’s market has been even quieter than Yu’s. There are options available — the Twins just have to be willing to commit to one of them. They probably shouldn’t take as long to make an offer to a player they’re openly into as they did with Darvish, though.
