Joey Lucchesi is a pitcher you probably haven’t thought about a ton this season. I mean, I don’t know your life but unless you’e a Padres fan he’s not an everyday name you think of. Which is why I’m here to tell you that Lucchesi’s pre-pitch routine looks so tiring.
Joey Lucchesi’s pitch windup is like exhausting baseball yoga
So many steps!

See for yourself, and then we’ll break it down.
That is exhausting. He starts normally enough, getting set.
But then he does ... this?
Which is unique but fine, I guess. Everyone has their routine. At least he goes back to normal after that to get ready to throw.
Except for ... wait. He still has another step? What in the world, Lucchesi. This is like sun salutation on a baseball mound.
This whole thing took 12 seconds. Does he do that every time? Do Padres fans watch him do that every time? Is that normal to them now? This all looks so involved and tiresome. He’s only a rookie so maybe he’ll snap out of it but, good gosh, this is a next level pitching routine. At least he’s well stretched though. Shouldn’t have any strains or tears after all these moves.
