College World Series 2018: Time/ TV/live stream info for Day 1 in Omaha

The College World Series is here.

Eight teams remain as we shift to Omaha for the 2018 College World Series that starts on Saturday. Washington, Mississippi State, Oregon and North Carolina will begin play on Day 1 of the College World Series. Arkansas, Texas, Florida, and Texas Tech will open their series on Sunday.

Washington will be playing in the program’s first College World Series. The Huskies earned a trip to Omaha at the Fullerton Super Regionals where they defeated Cal State Fullerton, 6-5, in Game 3 in extra innings.

Mississippi State is this side of the bracket’s dark horse. The Bulldogs are playing with house money after dropping a tournament opening loss to Oklahoma, 20-10 (you read that right), then refusing to lose in the Tallahassee regional. They proceeded to knock off Vanderbilt in the Nashville super regional, and now find themselves with a shot at all the beans. Remarkable, given that they’re playing under an interim coach — who should probably just be hired on as the full time guy — and they were firmly on the bubble of tournament selections on Memorial Day.

Jake Mangum and Elijah MacNamee have willed this team into Omaha, and they don’t want to go home anytime soon.

Oregon State is playing in its second-straight College World Series. The Beavers scored a combined 14 runs in their two games against Big Ten champion Minnesota. North Carolina averaged seven runs per game in its two-game sweep over Stetson in the Chapel Hill super regionals.
