The second day of the College World Series will feature a pair of SEC vs. Big 12 matchups: Texas will take on Arkansas, while Texas Tech squares off against Florida on Sunday.

Texas earned its 36th trip to the College World Series after beating Tennessee Tech, 5-2, in Game 3 of the Austin super regional. That’s far and away the NCAA record. The last time the Longhorns were in the World Series was in 2014. Arkansas scored 14 runs in its victory over South Carolina in Game 3 of the Fayetteville super, but not before getting blitzed by the Gamecocks in Game 2. The Razorbacks scored 10 runs in the first game of the series, however, so they do have some real firepower.

This side of the bracket is loaded with power hitting and formidable pitching staffs. Indeed, one gets the sense that whoever survives Bracket 2 has the best shot at the presumptive favorite on the other side, Oregon State. All of these games are appointment television for the invested college baseball fan.

Day 2 schedule for College World Series

All times Eastern.

Arkansas vs. Texas, ESPN, WatchESPN, 2 p.m.

Texas Tech vs. Florida, ESPN2, WatchESPN, 7 p.m.

Florida and Texas Tech will wrap up Sunday’s doubleheader. The Gators’ clinched their 12th appearance in the College World Series after sophomore left fielder Austin Langworthy belted a walk-off home run in 11th inning to beat Auburn, 3-2, in Game 3 of the Gainesville super.

Texas Tech, who will be playing in its third College World Series in five years, defeated Duke, 6-2, in Game 3 of the Lubbock super regional, but they looked shaky at times in doing so.
