Day 2 of the NCAA baseball tournament rolls along, and a number of teams have fallen twice in as many days to earn tickets back home after being eliminated. Most notable among them is No. 7 national seed Florida State, which took one on the chin at the hands of Samford on Friday night, then promptly took another from Mississippi State on Saturday.

The Seminoles are thus gone from their very own regional, which is a lot like hosting a party but having to leave before the rest of your guests.

The Bulldogs, for their part, dropped FSU from the tournament in highly dramatic fashion. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the ninth and with runners at first and second, Mississippi State big bat Elijah MacNamee stepped to the plate and did the following on a two-strike count.

Down to their last strike and the Noles’ postseason hopes were dashed. Baseball is a cruel, cruel thing sometimes. What do you get when you get the walk-off, three-run shot? You get the water cooler bath.

Austin regional hosts joined up with in-state non-rival Texas A&M on the winner’s side of the bracket and the Longhorns got started early with a Kody Clemens three-run shot over the right field fence that landed somewhere near Katy.

Afterwards, as Clemens rounded third and made his way to the plate, he screamed into the Aggie dugout, which is in no way, shape, or form rivalry behavior. Nope. No, sir.

Elsewhere, Stetson apparently would like to trade dugouts with Oklahoma State. This grab off the third base line is spectacular.

Wonderful.
