Hey guys, good news. The Jays are finally publicly talking about calling Vlad Guerrero, Jr. up! It’s what we’ve all been waiting for! Finally we get to watch Vladito play in the majors and hone his skills on a team
The latest Vlad Guerrero, Jr. update is going to make you so mad
Pull it together, Blue Jays.

[aide whispers in my ear]
Wait, what?
[hurried whispering]
No. Toronto can’t be that bad at this. Right?
[resigned whispering]
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, TORONTO?
The latest update about Guerrero — currently leading Double A hitting .409/.461/.677 with a 1.137 OPS and 11 home runs for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats — is that the Blue Jays have “discussed” the “possibility” of promoting him to Triple A. And not soon either, as the report from MLB Network’s Jon Morosi says it could be within the next month.
No. This is unacceptable. How are the Blue Jays missing the mark by so much here?
We’ve talked about this situation a lot lately. What the cost is of leaving him down to circumvent his overall service time (initially) and his Super Two status (what’s happening now), that the Jays had the perfect opening to give him a shot and didn’t call him up for even a few days, and that despite their concerns he’s ready to take on the majors — even if he fails.
So that their latest decision is he might be going to Triple A in the next month is so disappointing. Everyone with eyes can see he is crushing the competition in the minors and could hack it at another level. That should be the majors, not Buffalo. Maybe. In a month or so.
