The NCAA Baseball Tournament Super Regionals begin on Friday with eight teams beginning best-of-three series. Each will last throughout the weekend. Eight more teams will begin play on Saturday as the race to Omaha for the College World Series continues.

North Carolina put on an offensive clinic during the regional round, averaging 11.3 runs per game to win the four-team Chapel Hill Regional that it hosted. The Tar Heels tallied 19 runs in the victory over Houston that sealed their spot in the Super Regionals. It was the most runs UNC has scored in an NCAA Tournament game.

The University of Washington will be making its first ever Super Regional appearance after a comeback victory over UConn in the Conway Regional. The Huskies were down 6-1 before scoring eight unanswered runs in rout to a 9-6 win.

Washington will face Cal St. Fullerton, who knocked off Stanford thanks to pitcher Tanner Bibee’s dominating performance (11 strikeouts in 6.2 innings). This will be Fullerton’s 14th appearance in the Super Regionals and the 10th time the Titans are hosting.

Oregon State advanced to College World Series in 2017, and is trying to make its fourth appearance in the last six years.

Minnesota, the Big Ten regular-season and tournament champions, enters its first Super Regionals since 1977 with an 3.11 team ERA, which is ranked 10th in the nation.
