All-star festivities start on Sunday in Washington D.C.

The Futures Game is played on a Sunday afternoon while actual major league games are still going on, which seems like a missed marketing opportunity especially during a week with two full off days for the entire sport after Tuesday’s All-Star Game.
The prospects are split into a pair of 25-player teams, the United States and World squads, with evern major league team represented. Among the roster highlights are four top-10 picks from the 2017 draft (pitchers Hunter Greene and Kyle Wright, infielder Keston Hiura, and outfielder Jo Adell), and three top-10 prospects as ranked by Baseball America — infielders Fernando Tatis Jr. and Bo Bichette, plus pitcher Forrest Whitley, though Whitley was replaced on the U.S. roster due to injury.
The Futures Game won’t go past 10 innings no matter what. The U.S. team holds a 12-7 advantage over the World team in the series. A pair of former all-stars were tabbed to manage the teams, with David Ortiz captaining the World team and Torii Hunter at the helm for the United States.
MLB Network will televise the game on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, with Greg Amsinger, Harold Reynolds, Lauren Shehadi, and Jim Callis on the call. Online streaming is available through MLB.com.
