Late during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game, several tweets Brewers pitcher Josh Hader sent around 2011 and 2012 resurfaced. Amid a fast-rising outcry on Twitter — and just moments after Hader exited the game following a relief sting — he turned his account to private.

Some of Hader’s old tweets were quickly deleted, and those that remain aren’t immediately visible or searchable. But while they were publicly available on his @jhader17 handle, some of Hader’s past tweets included:

  • One that read only: “Suck my cock! I’ll murder your family!”
  • At least one that used the N-word
  • One that read only: “I hate gay people.”

And plenty of others that included epithets toward various groups. Screenshots of Hader’s tweets are still circulating on twitter. Hader, 24, was a teenager in 2011 and ‘12.

After the game, Hader apologized for his past tweets, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

The surfacing of the tweets came around the time Hader gave up a three-run home run to the MarinersJean Segura in the game’s eighth inning.
