Cal Raleigh gets a closeup from the YES Network during Yankees-Mariners

The YES Network highlighted Cal Raleigh’s nickname during their broadcast Tuesday night.

Cal Raleigh is having a magical season. Entering play on Tuesday night the Seattle Mariners catcher led the majors with 35 home runs, and Raleigh was not only voted as a starter for the upcoming All-Star Game, but he was also selected as one of the participants in the Home Run Derby.

As the scheduling gods would have it, Raleigh and the Mariners were in New York City on Tuesday night to start a three-game set with the New York Yankees. That gave Michael Kay and the YES Network a chance to pay homage to Raleigh and what he has accomplished this season.

As well as his, well, butt.

As has been well-documented here and elsewhere, Raleigh is affectionately known as the “Big Dumper.” After Raleigh walked in the top of the sixth, the broadcast team acknowledged his nickname and as Kay put it, his “large posterior.”

That is when the cameras zoomed in.
