Chris Wondolowski moved one step closer to history. The San Jose Earthquakes forward scored a 73rd minute goal, giving him 26 on the season and pulling him to within one of Roy Lassiter's 16-year-old single-season record. As it is, Wondolowski pulled even with Stern John and Mamadou Diallo for the second-highest total in history.

Chris Wondolowski’s equalizer in the 73rd minute pulled him to within one goal of Roy Lassiter’s single-season record as the Earthquakes settled for a 2-2 tie with the LA Galaxy.
Wondolowski will get one more chance to either tie or break the record on Saturday when the Earthquakes play their final regular-season game at Portland.
Wondolowski's goal, which came on a scramble in front of the net, was the equalizer as the San Jose Earthquakes settled for a 2-2 tie with the LA Galaxy on Sunday. The Earthquakes had already clinched the the Supporters' Shield. The Galaxy pulled to within two points of the Seattle Sounders for the No. 3 spot in the West, pending Seattle's result later in the evening.
Also scoring goals in the game were Robbie Keane and Edson Buddle for the Galaxy and Marvin Chavez for the Earthquakes. The Galaxy twice took the lead in the second half, but were unable to hold it for more than a few minutes each time.
