We’re in the middle of April, and finally, Major League Soccer has the floor on the men’s side. The NCAA Tournaments are done, The Masters are complete, and the league can finally take over your Saturday nights.
Major League Soccer takes the entire stage this weekend
Now that many major sporting events are out of the way, it’s MLS’ time to shine with 3 important matches.

And the league, at least on the men’s side, has the opportunity now to showcase some of its best teams as the battle continues for separation in the Eastern Conference. Several teams are playing well, while others have been inconsistent with their attempts to keep pace. Only 5 points separate #1 from #10 in the Eastern Conference standings, with a few teams hoping that recent results won’t be the difference when the final regular season matches are played in October.
Here are 3 matches this weekend that should keep you entertained, and with all of them being at the same time on MLS Season Pass, use this as your chance to get your TV setup ready.
Atlanta United vs. FC Cincinnati - Saturday, April 20th, 7:30pm (MLS Season Pass)
Both Atlanta and Cincinnati are doing well on the season, with Atlanta sitting at 11 points and Cincinnati with 12. Atlanta plays tough at home and will scrap for a result, as they did last weekend. Now, they hope that their stars can overpower Cincinnati’s defense. Cincinnati will try to get the ball to the feet of Luciano Acosta, the reigning MVP who will relish an open match on turf.
Prediction: Atlanta and Cincinnati fight to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Inter Miami vs. Nashville SC - Saturday, April 20th, 7:30pm (MLS Season Pass)
We may have a new rivalry in Major League Soccer, as it seems like everytime Inter Miami and Nashville SC take the field against each other, it’s an important match. And, the teams play like it too. Miami tops the East with 15 points, and Nashville is trying to get back into the fray as they are on 7 points. If anyone can neutralize the Miami attack that’s led by Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, it’s Nashville. They just need to provide their own offense as well.
Prediction: Inter Miami beat Nashville 3-1 earlier this season at home, and they match that energy behind a Lionel Messi brace.
CF Móntreal vs. Orlando City - Saturday, April 20th, 7:30pm (MLS Season Pass)
Orlando City was lucky to get 3 points last weekend as they came from behind late on the road against DC United. They will need to start better against a Montreal squad that does not allow a lot of teams to open up against them. Montreal frustrates teams by getting in front of shots and keeping the ball in the middle of the field where there are a ton of bodies. It creates an intriguing contest up at Stade Saputo.
Prediction: Montreal gets the job done, winning 2-1.
