Spike Announces Kendall Grove Vs. Demian Maia And Stephan Bonnar Vs. Igor Pokrajac For ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Finale Dec. 4

Spike TV announced today that it has added two co-feature matchups for its Dec 4 'Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck' finale featuring Kendall Grove vs. Demian Maia and Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac.

Coming off a victory in a rematch with Krzystof Sosznyski at UFC 116 in July, Stephan Bonnar returns to fighting live on Spike in an effort to recapture some of that ratings magic he and Forrest Griffin made back in April 2005. Bonnar owes much of his career to his epic TUF finale battle with Griffin, so going up against someone tough like Igor Pokrajac should be a crowd pleaser. Pokrajac -- a former longtime training partner of Mirco Cro Cop -- is slowly building a following in the division. He scored the biggest win of his career with a first round submission of James Irvin this past August, but desperately needs a victory in front of a national television audience to establish himself as a viable contender in the division.

Demian Maia returns to the Octagon looking to continue his climb back to the top of the UFC’s middleweight division when he faces season 3 TUF winner, Kendall Grove. Maia most recently defeated Mario Miranda at UFC 118 in August, taking a decision victory over a fellow BJJ black belt. Maia hasn’t won two consecutive fights back to back since beating Nate Quarry and Chael Sonnenn in early 2009, so he really needs to demonstrate that he can consistently compete against top notch competition.

"The Ultimate Fighter 3" victor Kendall Grove is coming off of one of the most important victories of his career, a split decision win over Goran Reljic at UFC 116 in July. Grove is sort of in the same boat as Maia, in that he's had problems showing consistency fighting in the UFC. Since joining the promotion in 2006, Grove just hasn't had the career many expected him to after becoming the winner of TUF 3. In over four years with the promotion we just haven't seen the kind of progress everyone expected. He took a huge step up with his win over Reljic this summer but he really needs to string a few wins together if he wants any sort of chance at competing for a title in the future.

“The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck” Finale will air live on Spike TV Saturday, December 4 at 9:00pm ET/PT
