UFC 124 Results - Jim Miller Submits Charles Oliveira In First Round

Jim Miller has long been one of the toughest men in the lightweight division and since coming to the UFC has t continued to have a good amount of success. In Charles Oliveira he was facing a man who had been hyped up by the fans as well as the UFC as possibly the future of 155 pound fighting. Instead it was the craft veteran who showed that he can stay calm and weather the storm of a young, explosive fighter.

Standing up in the start of the fight Oliveira was aggressive with head kicks but Miller avoided damage and got a takedown. Oliveira is known for a good submission game and he continually threw up his legs looking for an armbar or triangle but Miller suddenly spun from the top and locked up one of Oliveira's legs. Miller torqued the ankle at first and then transitioned to a kneebar that forced Oliveira to tap out.

With the win Miller has now won six straight fights in the Octagon.
