Making an appearance on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour, Jamie Varner made some comments regarding the recent move of former teammates Ryan Bader, CB Dollaway, and Aaron Simpson. Varner seemed upset about the move, claiming that his trainers, the Lally brothers, were hung out to dry after after the former ASU products moved on.
Jamie Varner Still Upset With Departure Of Bader, Dollaway, And Simpson From Arizona Combat Sports
↵“The Lally brothers put everything they had into those guys,” said Varner. “I just didn’t like the way they handled it when they left.”
↵SB Nation caught up with Aaron Simpson who had this to say regarding Varner’s comments:
↵“Can’t comment on his jealousy. We’re not too concerned about what Varner thinks.”
↵Varner seemed almost hurt talking about the situation, to which Simpson remarked about his exclusion from the trio’s new venture, Power MMA & Fitness.
↵“He feels left out,” said Simpson. “He was never a part of us.” “We just want to move past this. I thought we had. I guess he hasn’t.”
↵Simpson wouldn’t comment on a reason for Varner exclusion from the move, but given the WEC bad boy’s poor reputation in the MMA community I could probably think of a few reasons.
