This one comes to us by way of Middle Easy, and I have to say, I like where Jamie Varner's head's at. In addition to preparing for his upcoming fight with Donald Cerrone tonight at WEC 51, Varner has already made arrangements for this evening.
Jamie Varner Plans Ahead
↵via MMA Weekly-
↵↵“I plan on going to hospital after this fight,” Varner told MMA Weekly. “I’ve already called ahead and have a room waiting for me. Broken hand, broken foot, whatever, I’m Ready.”
↵↵Something tells me these guys won’t be spending much time on the ground in their fight. Varner goes on about his injuries, and seems pretty comfortable with the way his life is looking to shake out post MMA.
↵↵“I’ve broken my hand four times. I know when I get older I’m going to have athritus. I didn’t get into this sport because I wanted to be an 80 year-old triathlete. I got into this sport because I want to live my life to the fullest. If you’re not living on the edge you’re taking up too much space.”
↵↵Regardless of what you think about this guy you have to respect his reckless abandon towards his own body. Now, we just have to actually see him put that attitude into a fight. I’m not doubting his toughness, but he really can’t have another ‘ghost knee’ incident like in his first fight with Cerrone.
